ILI CPCM
Assessing cathodic protection (CP) and mapping it to your pipeline helps ensure protection is in place and operating as expected. Cathodic Protection Current Mapping (CPCM) from ENTEGRA® accurately locates, identifies, measures and reports all CP current sources—as well as CP leaks, interference and gaps—from right inside your pipeline with no need to disrupt service and without relying on inferences from other over the ditch techniques.
Overcoming CP Assessment Challenges with ILI:
In-line CPCM inspection provides the most comprehensive, high-quality, high-resolution data available. Walking the line or taking test station readings simply can’t compare.
In-line CPCM inspection provides the most comprehensive, high-quality, high-resolution data available. Walking the line or taking test station readings simply can’t compare.
The tool accurately locates, identifies, measures and reports all CP current sources, drains, interferences, and gaps — from inside the pipe, drastically streamlining your ability to stay on top of your pipeline’s CP system health.
ENTEGRA CPCM technology uses a specially designed smart pigging tool to measure the voltage drop in the pipeline material caused by the flow of CP current in the pipe. Drops are converted to current values and plotted against pipeline distance. The resulting data helps better define, locate and quantify CP issues within the pipe, and can even help determine why corrosion is occurring.
The CPCM process takes a fraction of the time traditional inspection methods require and allows 100% access to the pipeline throughout.
Our comprehensive data outputs include graphing and mapping of CP currents (flow and direction) and reports on current density, casing and pipeline features, such as coatings, welds and bends.
CPCM datasets can also be overlaid with corrosion identified by our Ultra-High Resolution (UHR) ILI tools, for a complete picture of your pipeline and thorough understanding that helps improve maintenance, compliance and readiness
Key Benefits:
• Defines coating quality based on ACTUAL current densities.
• Locates and quantifies shorts/bonds.
• Defines areas outside of any current influence.
• Identifies areas with induced AC.
• Helps determine why corrosion is occurring.
Your pipeline’s CP system is the front line of your pipeline’s integrity efforts. Invest in your CP prevention program with the robust data and deep insights CPCM provides.
